Cabinet Style Weights and Measures Type Upright/Standard Game IntroductionIn this 3-D sequel, Pac-Man gets to eat and run from ghosts in four different mazes, each complete with its own theme music and name. Some of the levels include the LEGO-like Block Town, the original maze Pac-Man's Park, the closed-off top Sand Box Land, and the extremely large Jungly Steps which looks like a bunch of steps.
Play may be started on any of the first three mazes (not available on the Japanese version). Pac-Man can jump over ghosts, but in addition to the original four ghosts, up to four more have been added, depending upon the level. Sue has returned, but she is now colored purple and is aggressive.
A green ghost, Funky, has the ability to jump on higher levels, where there are always two Funkies. There is also a silver ghost called Spunky who has the same ability to jump, but unlike Funky, Pac-Man cannot jump over him. Another new feature in this game is the appearance of special items in addition to the fruit bonuses cherries, strawberries, oranges, apples, bananas, apricots, bells, and keys. These items include candy, hamburgers, ice cream cones, coffee, and two special kinds of power pills. The pills, which appear in addition to the traditional power pills, give Pac-Man more points for eating ghosts and give him extra speed, both of which come in very handy during gameplay.
MiscellaneousLicensed to Atari Games for US manufacture and distribution. There are some differences between the Japanese and U.S. Versions of the game.
The Pac-Man and ghosts floating around the logo in the title screen was added for the U.S. Also, Block Town originally had two levels in the Japanese version the U.S. Version only has one. Also in the U.S. Version, the two additional ghosts, Common and Gray Common were renamed 'Funky' and 'Spunky' respectively. For this reason, in the Sand Box Land intro, one of the lines says 'Funkys at play'.
In the Japanese version, it says 'Commons are playing outside'. Turtix didn't know what would happen when he tried casting a powerful spell without the supervision of his teacher. When he lost control of the magic and it shattered an amulet that maintained peace and harmony throughout his world, he thought the worst had happened. Then he learned dark forces had invaded five islands and kidnapped all of the young turtles from the School of Magic! Determined to set things right, the brave and commendable Turtix set out to rescue his friends and collect the scattered pieces of the amulet. #27 What fun! I found the graphics easy on the eyes and the levels challenging. It is always a pleasure to find games that have more than one way to play.
PacMania3 not only adds visual change for the various modes of the game but some changes in the reactions of the pieces as well. The patterns are not as simple as they appear and the option to replay a level with a password is an actual word relating to the game unlike one other game offered here on GGOTD. I do wish I didn't have to enter my name every time I play again, and then go through a maze of 'enter', 'left click', and 'type' etc. In a game meant to be played over and over. All and all, two thumbs up.

All and all, two thumbs up. Bravo Alawar. #10 Well I never though i'd get into playing packman, but this with four variations is really good fun. Yet another game my family and i are already enjoying; thank you.
Anyone who downloaded the board game yesterday and kept getting errors. Try it again. I, out of curiosity (before i was going to delete it) checked it out again, despite numerous failed attempts yesterday; I kept getting the 'have to shutdown due to error message'.well, it worked today on both computers, yet yesterday no matter how often I redownloaded it, it wouldn't work.
It's actually quite an enjoyable game. Don't redownload it, just try the already installed game as the activation will obviously not work now.
